Remote Desktop via Registry aktivieren

You can disable or enable Windows XP’s Remote Desktop feature with a simple registry tweak. Use the registry to configure this setting by performing the following steps:

  1. Start the registry editor (e.g., regedit.exe).
  2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server.
  3. Double-click fDenyTSConnections.
  4. Change the value of this setting to 0 to enable Remote Desktop or 1 to disable it, and click OK.
  5. Close the registry editor, and reboot the computer for the change to take effect.

Nachdem mein alter Compaq Deskpro 2000, den ich bisher als Firewall eingesetzt habe, schon große Probleme beim Einschalten macht, habe ich mich entschlossen, eine kleine aber feine neue Kiste mit dieser Aufgabe zu betrauen:

  • 256 MB DDR2 533 Speicher
  • 512MB 40Pin IDE Flash Modul

Der interne LAN Adapter benötigt das Modul „via_rhine“, die 3 GigaBit Anschlüsse das Modul „r8169“.
